Contoh Pemakaian Baja Ringan pada Project Emporio

Rangka Atap Baja Ringan, tentunya teman-teman sudah pernah mendengarnya bukan? Kali ini saya akan membahas mengenai apa saja kelebihan maupun kekurangan penggunaan rangka atap baja ringan ini, dan kenapa kita sebaiknya menggunakan rangka atap baja ringan :)

Berbeda dengan baja konvensional, baja ringan merupakan baja mutu tinggi yang memiliki sifat ringan dan tipis, namun memiliki fungsi setara baja konvensional. Baja ringan ini termasuk jenis baja yang dibentuk setelah dingin (cold form steel). Rangka atap baja ringan diciptakan untuk memudahkan perakitan atap baja ringan dan konstruksi sipil. Meskipun tipis, baja ringan memiliki
derajat kekuatan tarik yang tinggi yaitu sekitar 550 MPa, sementara baja biasa sekitar 300 MPa. Kekuatan tarik dan tegangan untuk rangka atap ini untuk mengkompensasi bentuk atap baja yang tipis. Ketebalan baja ringan untuk atap ringan yang beredar sekarang ini berkisar dari 0,4mm - 1mm.
Perhitungan kuda-kuda rangka baja ringan dari jasa konstruksi amat berbeda dengan kayu, yakni cenderung lebih rapat. Semakin besar beban yang harus dipikul, jarak kuda-kuda semakin pendek. Misalnya untuk genteng dengan bobot 40 kg/m2 jarak kuda-kuda atap baja bisa dibuat setiap 1,4m. Sementara bila bobot genteng mencapai 75kg/m2, maka jarak kuda-kuda atap baja ringan menjadi 1,2m. Kenapa harus dipakai rangka atap baja ringan oleh jasa konstruksi?
Inilah kelebihan dan kekurangannya: (*sumber : serial rumah) 

Kelebihan: 
* Karena bobot rangka atap yang ringan menurut konstruksi sipil maka dibandingkan kayu, beban yang harus ditanggung oleh struktur di bawahnya lebih rendah (jadi lebih irit strukturnya) 
* Baja ringan bersifat tidak membesarkan api (non-combustible).
* Tidak bisa dimakan rayap (rayap gak doyan makan baja :) )
* Pemasangan rangka baja relatif lebih cepat apabila dibandingkan rangka kayu.
* Baja ringan nyaris tidak memiliki nilai muai dan susut, jadi tidak berubah karena panas dan dingin 

Kekurangannya : 
* Kerangka atap baja ringan tidak bisa diekspos seperti rangka kayu, sistem rangkanya yang berbentuk jaring kurang menarik bila tanpa penutup plafon. (kira-kira seperti pada arsitektur gaya Spanyol)
* Karena strukturnya yang seperti jaring ini maka bila ada salah satu bagian struktur yang salah hitung ia akan menyeret bagian lainnya maksudnya jika salah satu bagian kurang memenuhi syarat keamanan, maka kegagalan bisa terjadi secara keseluruhan (biasanya perhitungan strukturnya langsung dilakukan oleh structural engineer dari aplikatornya)
 * Rangka atap baja ringan tidak sefleksibel kayu yang dapat dipotong dan dibentuk berbagai profil. (makanya jarang digunakan pada bangunan tradisional...)

Pros and Cons: Use of Lightweight Steel Frame Roof

 

This time I will discuss about what are the advantages and disadvantages the use of lightweight steel roof truss, and why we should use a lightweight steel roof truss :)

Unlike conventional steel, mild steel is of high quality steel that has the properties of light and thin, but has a function equivalent to the conventional steel. This mild steel including steel type which is formed after the cold (cold form steel). Lightweight steel roof truss was created to facilitate the assembly of lightweight steel roofing and civil construction. Although thin, mild steel has a high degree of tensile strength of about 550 M Pa, while ordinary steel is about 300 M Pa. Tensile strength and stress for the roof truss is to compensate for the thin steel roof forms. The thickness of mild steel for the roof light in circulation right now ranges from 0.4 mm - 1mm.

The Pros:

* For a light weight roof truss according to the civil construction compared to wood, the burden to be borne by the underlying structure is lower (so more economical structure)

* Mild steel is not raising the fire (non-combustible).

* Cannot be eaten by termites (termites do not eat steel hooked :) )

* Installation of steel frame is relatively faster when compared to the wooden frame.

* Mild steel has almost no value expansion and shrinkage, so it does not change because of heat and cold

The Cons:

* Lightweight steel roof frame cannot be exposed, such as wood frame, the frame system is shaped nets cover less attractive when no ceiling. (Roughly as in Spanish-style architecture)

* Because the structure of such nets is then if there is one part of the structure that he miscounted would drag the rest of it mean if one of the less qualified security, then failure can occur as a whole (usually direct structure calculations performed by structural engineers from the applicant )

* Lightweight steel roof frames are not as flexible as wood that can be cut and shaped the various profiles. (Hence rarely used in traditional buildings ...)

Arsitektur Minimalis, Efisiensi vs Keindahan??

Hmm... mungkin teman-teman sudah membaca mengenai salah satu artikel kami yaitu arsitektur aliran Neo Vernacular, kali ini saya akan membahas mengenai aliran arsitektur lainnya yaitu aliran arsitektur Minimalis. Apakah yang dimaksud dengan arsitektur minimalis?? Sebenarnya aliran ini lahir dari keadaan pasca perang dunia ke-2, dimana sebelum itu bangunan dibuat dengan gaya yang banyak menggunakan ornamen, seperti gaya baroque, atau art deco ( rumah-rumah baron eropa jaman kolonial ). Setelah perang dunia, para arsitek melihat perkembangan di masyarakat tentang urbanisme sehingga muncullah aliran minimalis, yang populer di tahun 70-an. Salah satu yang terkenal dengan aliran minimalisme adalah Frank Lloyd Wright, dengan karyanya "the falling water" (lihat gambar).

Aliran minimalis menitikberatkan pada penghilangan ornamen pada bangunan ( untuk menghemat ruang dan biaya) tapi ternyata menjadi aliran yang populer di tahun 70-an. Aliran ini lalu mengakar dan berkembang menjadi beberapa aliran minimalis lainnya seperti
aliran minimalis neo constructivisme ( memperlihatkan /menonjolkan konstruksi sebagai suatu bentuk keindahan), aliran minimalis kubisme (bangunan berbentuk seperti kubus), dan lain sebagainya. Berikut beberapa contoh desain minimalis dari Emporio :

Tetapi lama kelamaan, orang jenuh juga dengan minimalisme ini, jadi para arsitek membuat terobosan yaitu aliran neo vernacular, yaitu aliran yang memadukan antara nilai khas lokal yang dibuat simple sebagai ornamen baru. Minimalist Architecture, Between Efficiency and Esthetics

Well, you guys may have read about one of our articles about Neo Vernacular architecture, this time I will discuss about other architectural concept, the Minimalist architecture. What is a minimalist architecture? Actually, this genre was born from the post-World War 2, where before it was made in the style of buildings that use a lot of ornaments, such as the baroque style, or art deco (baron homes at European colonial era). After the world war, the architects saw the development in the community about the urbanism that emerges minimalist flow, which is popular in the '70s. One of the famous with the flow of minimalism is the Frank Lloyd Wright, with his work "the falling water" (see picture).
Minimalist flow focuses on the removal of ornaments on the building (to save space and cost) but it turned into a popular stream in the 70s. This stream is then rooted and grown into multiple streams, such as flow minimalist minimalist neo constructivisme (show / highlight the construction as a form of beauty), the flow of minimalist cubism (building shaped like a cube), and so forth. The two picture above are some examples of minimalist design from Emporio.

But over time, people became saturated with minimalism, so the architects made a breakthrough that is the neo-vernacular concept, the concept that combine local characteristic values ​​which are made simple as a new ornament.
